Howbeck is a small family run veggie guest house. We have two rooms, one double and one twin and both with en suite bathrooms and well appointed.
How Beck is a traditional Lakeland home built a century ago. It is supposed to be one the earliest homes in the village to have a damp proof course! It is constructed from local stone, mainly from nearby Helm Crag and it is this that provides the 'pink' colouring in the some of the stones.
We are set in an acre of private garden, set well back from the road, near to the centre of the lovely lakeland village of Grasmere. With many walks, including those of Helm Crag, Silverhowe, Alcock Tarn, Fairfield Horseshoe, Grasmere Lake, right from the door step, there are walks suitable for all abilities.

If walking every day isn't for you, there are plenty of other things to do, including discovering Dove Cottage, home to the famous Romantic poet, William Wordsworth, or browsing the local shops, having morning coffee or afternoon tea in one of the many superb restaurants or cafes or tasting a fine locally brewed ale in a local pub.
Further afield are the market towns of Ambleside (4 miles to the South), Windermere (8 miles South) or Keswick (12 miles to the North), all linked by the local bus service.
