Finding Howbeck:   Whether travelling from north or south on the A591 towards Grasmere, turn westwards into the village at the Swan Hotel. Follow the road (Swan Lane) down the hill, bear left at the bottom, go over the bridge (Whitebridge) and Howbeck is the first house on the right hand side, directly oposite Rothay Garden Hotel.

Finding The Coach House: Follow the directions as for Howbeck as far as bearing left at the bottom of Swan Lane. The Coach House, Grange End is on the left hand side just before the bridge (Whitebridge) in the grounds of Riversdale Guest House.
